The Happiest Place On Earth

Opposites Attract...If you know me, you know that I am a planner and a stress case. If you know my husband, you know that he's just the opposite. He likes to do things spur of the moment at times and he doesn't worry about too much. Steve always gives my kids something for Valentine's Day, usually candy and a card, last year a hampster (much to my dismay), and this year he gave them tickets to Disneyland (Really he was just looking for an excuse to go). To say they were excited would be an understatement. We looked over our schedules to decide when the best time to go would be, we decided that since the kids were out of school we would leave 4 days later. Needless to say I had no time to plan, but it turned out wonderful. No time to plan also meant no time to worry. It also so happened that we would be at Disneyland on Steve's birthday. Disneyland is his favorite place, so I knew it would be the perfect birthday for him. We decided to drive. I was afraid that Keaton would not be very good in the car, but he was an angel. He didn't cry at all. I couldn't have asked for a better drive. It was so much fun.

We finally arrived at Disneyland. The kids were overflowing with excitement and Steve, let's not kid ourselves, he loves it as much as they do.
Happy 33rd Birthday Steve-we love you!!! Ahh, aren't you cute?

Keaton loved the Merry-Go-Round. On the last day, we let him ride the horse by himself. He thought that he was so big.

Ride 'em cowboy/cowgirl! These kids look really sweet, but they talked me into riding the "Tower of Terror". They weren't so cute then. LOL

Pull with all your might, kids! They might not have been able to pull out the sword, but they're our little kings and queen.

I finally caged my wild animals.

Keaton loved seeing Pooh Bear. He wanted to give Tigger a hug, but he just kept bouncing around.

To make the trip even more fun, my parents also decided last minute to fly out and join us at Disneyland. It was a lot of fun to have them there with us.

Our family in Bear Country.

We waited in a line that was just over an hour so that the kids could ride the new Toy Story ride at California Adventure. They loved it. Keaton wouldn't leave his 3-D glasses on during the ride, so I'm sure it seemed a little strange to him. He loved it anyway. This ride was a big hit with all of the kids.

Here's a list of our favorite rides:

Steve
-Matterhorn, Haunted Mansion
Bridgit-Space Mountain
Chase-Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Matterhorn, Autopia, Tower of Terror (He braved the Rocket twice-crazy kid)
Breeley-Thunder Mountain Railroad, Matterhorn, Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror
Keaton-Buzz Light Year's Astro Blasters, Pirates of the Carribean
Grandma Diane-Tower of Terror (She's afraid of heights, go figure!)
Grandpa Johnny-Soaring Over California, Pirates of the Carribean (He admitted later that this was because it was a long ride and he could rest his feet.)
